Lieutenant General Manish Erry Assumes Command Of Gajraj Corps

GUWAHATI: Lieutenant General Manish Erry assumed command of the Tezpur-based Gajraj Corps on Friday.

The Gajraj Corps is in charge of the Kameng sector along the northern borders.

Lt Gen Manish Erry is an infantryman who joined the JAK LI in December 1988. The General Officer took the Staff Course at DSSC Wellington, the Higher Defence Management Course at Secunderabad, and the Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA Course) at the Indian Institute of Public Administration in New Delhi.

He has held a variety of command and staff positions in the Eastern Theatre, including command of a Mountain Strike Corps brigade and a division in Sikkim.

He was the Chief of Staff at South Western Command in Jaipur before taking command of the Gajraj Corps. As a result of his professional contributions both during Command and Staff assignments, he has received the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Sena Medal, and Chief of Army Staff Commendation Card.
