GUWAHATI: An oil leak from an Oil India Limited (OIL) pipeline caused panic in Assam’s Duliajan on Monday, February 24. Crude oil was seen gushing out at a high rate in the Solakotoki area, raising serious safety concerns among residents.

The leak occurred in front of the residence of Rupeshwar Gogoi, with a large quantity of crude oil spreading across a vast area. The sudden outflow of oil has alarmed locals.
An official from Duliajan police station confirmed that OIL authorities had arrived at the site to address the situation. “The pipe exploded due to a fault, causing the oil spill. Repairs have begun,” the official stated. "Efforts are underway to contain the leak and prevent further damage," he added.
