GUWAHATI: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption officials in Assam arrested a Lat Mandal in the Kamrup district on Friday for accepting a bribe.
The arrested Lat Mandal has been identified as Gitanjali Dekal. She was assigned to the Kamalpur Revenue Circle's circle officer's office in Kamrup.
Deka was caught red-handed by anti-corruption cell officials while accepting a bribe of ₹5000 from the complainant in exchange for issuing his land sale permission.
In the meantime, IPS Surendra Kumar stated on Twitter, "Today, a team of @DIR_VAC_ASSAM laid a trap at the O/O Circle Officer, Kamalpur Revenue Circle, Kamrup and apprehended Smti Gitanjali Deka Das, Lat Mandal, for demanding and accepting a bribe from the complainant for issuing his land sale permission."
