GUWAHATI: The last date to link the Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Aadhaar card to file income tax returns has been extended to December 31, according to an order by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Ministry of Finance.
The deadline to link PAN-Aadhaar earlier was September 30, which the CBDT had earlier made compulsory.
The government on Saturday, September 28 extended the last date by another three months to December 31 after the September 30 extension which had been announced in March earlier this year.

It should be noted that this is the seventh time the government has extended the deadline.
