GUWAHATI: Ex-post facto approval for the establishment of the Khasi-Jaintia Development Council was provided by the Assam government in the State Cabinet meeting on November 16.
This move aims to ensure the holistic development and representation of diverse communities within the state. The Khasi-Jaintia Development Council is poised to play a pivotal role in formulating and implementing policies that cater specifically to the unique needs and concerns of the Khasi-Jaintia community.
The ex-post facto approval reaffirms inclusive governance and empowering marginalised communities by providing them with a platform for meaningful participation in the decision-making process along with the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Khasi-Jaintia community in Assam.
