Kaziranga National Park All Set to Open for Tourists

GUWAHATI:  After being closed for a long time due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kaziranga National Park in Assam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is all set to open to tourists very soon. 


“Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve is being refuelled with mesmerizing beauty again and we will open it very soon for the visitors and nature lovers,” said state forest minister, Parimal Suklabaidya.


Suklabaidya said that the authorities of the Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve are gearing up to re-open the park amidst the resumption of economic activities. Visitors will have to contend with new norms within the park premises in accordance with the guidelines to contain the novel coronavirus. 


“We have set new rules and regulations that shall be in accordance with the Centre’s directives,” Suklabaidya said.


The date of opening of the park will be notified soon, the minister said.


Normally, the park reopens after the monsoon break at the end of October.
