GUWAHATI: Javier Siverio scored a brace as Hyderabad FC outclassed Vincenzo Annese-led NorthEast United FC 6-1 in the Indian Super League fixture at the GMC Balayogi Athletic Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday, December 29.
The Bartholomew Ogbeche-led side fire powered five goals and was aided by a last goal which came from Gaurav Bora whose unfortunate own goal made it 6-1 for the rock-bottom hit ‘Highlanders’ who have had a disappointing ISL campaign, thus far.
As for the ‘Nizams,’ having won nine games from 12 matches, thus far, the side finished the calendar year on top of the ISL points table with 28 points under their belt.
Although caught unaware by the bludgeoning Hyderabad attack, the Guwahati-based side kept its hopes alive as it pulled one back when an unmarked Aaron Evans collected the ball inside the box and slotted it in to reduce the deficit.
