On Friday, November 1, a record 1.81 lakh pensioners had generated their DLCs, according to a statement from the Ministry of Personnel.
The campaign emphasises the use of face-authentication technology, aiming to simplify the process for pensioners and eliminate the rigorous demands of physical verification requirements. Technical support for the same is provided by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
The DoPPW’s effort in distributing timely pensions is in collaboration with several pension-disbursing banks, India Post Payments Bank, pensioners' associations, and other government entities like the Controller General of Defence Accounts (CGDA) and Department of Telecommunications.
The campaign seeks to extend digital convenience to pensioners to even those who reside in remote areas.
