GUWAHATI: Indian Idol Season 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan on Monday, May 5, sustained serious injuries in a car accident that occurred in Ahmedabad.

According to reports, the mishap took place around 3:40 AM, leaving the popular singer in a critical condition. A video showing him being attended to by medical personnel has since surfaced on social media, prompting an outpouring of concern and support from fans nationwide.
Although the cause of the accident remains unclear, the widely circulated video shows visible injuries on Pawandeep’s left foot and right arm. He is currently undergoing treatment at an undisclosed medical facility. At the time of filing this report, there has been no official update on his condition from the hospital or his representatives.
Pawandeep Rajan gained national recognition after winning Indian Idol Season 12, where he stood out for his vocal versatility and humility. He emerged victorious among finalists including Arunita Kanjilal, Mohd Danish, Sayli Kamble, Nihal Tauro, and Shanmukha Priya, earning a winner’s trophy, a car, and a cash prize of ₹25 lakh.
Originally from Champawat district in Uttarakhand, Pawandeep comes from a family of accomplished Kumaoni folk musicians. He demonstrated musical talent from a young age, receiving the Youngest Tabla Player Award at just two years old.
Before his Indian Idol success, he rose to fame by winning The Voice India in 2015 under the mentorship of singer Shaan. That achievement brought him ₹50 lakh and a car, solidifying his position as a promising figure in Indian music.
