GUWAHATI: To facilitate the completion of pending departmental work, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, under section 119 of the Income-tax Act, 1961, has issued a directive to keep all Income Tax Offices across India open on March 29, 30, and 31, 2024.

The financial year 2023-24 is set to close on 31st March 2024, which falls on a Sunday. Additionally, 30th March 2024 is a Saturday, and 29th March 2024 is designated as a closed holiday.

Hence this decision has been undertaken to ensure administrative convenience and enable the timely completion of pending tasks within the Income Tax Department before the end of the financial year.
