IMD: Rainfall Predicted In Assam And Northeastern States

 

GUWAHATI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather forecast indicating the likelihood of light to moderate rainfall in several regions of Northeast India on Tuesday.

According to the latest update, these weather conditions are expected to prevail in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, while Arunachal Pradesh may experience isolated instances of light rain.

Furthermore, the report warns that day temperatures in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and Manipur are expected to soar significantly above normal levels, with increases ranging between 4 to 5 degrees Celsius. This rise in temperatures could result in warmer-than-usual conditions for residents in these areas.

Additionally, the IMD has cautioned about the possibility of thunderstorms and lightning strikes in isolated areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, and Mizoram. The forecast also indicates partly cloudy skies, with a potential for the development of thunder and lightning in these regions.

The maximum daytime temperature is predicted to reach 37°C, while the minimum nighttime temperature is expected to be around 26°C, according to the IMD's weather update. Residents and travellers in these states are advised to stay informed about local weather conditions and take necessary precautions as needed.
