GUWAHATI: The police after a raid in an individual’s residence led to the seizure of illicit weapons and explosives in Hailkandi on November 22.
In the operation, the Officer-in-Charge of Hailakandi Police Station, along with police personnel, conducted a search at the residence of the individual identified as Tajim Uddin Laskar, 58 years old, in Bojontipur village, Hailakandi led to the discovery and confiscation of illicit weapons and explosives.
During the search, the authorities recovered and seized a handmade pistol, along with four gelatine sticks and 25 detonators from Laskar's residence.
Hailakandi Police took to X to put out, “Based on source input, the O/C, Hailakandi PS, and staff conducted search in the house of Tajim Uddin Laskar, 58 years, S/O Lt. Mosad Ali Laskar, Vill. Bojontipur, PS Hailakandi, following which one hand made pistol, 4 gelatine sticks and 25 detonators were recovered and seized.”

Tajim Uddin Laskar is now under police custody, and legal proceedings have been initiated against him. Further details await.
