GUWAHATI: A student of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati was reportedly found dead in his hostel room on Friday night.
The deceased is identified as Surya Narayan Premkishore, who hails from Kerala. Surya’s body was found hanging in the Umiam hostel of IIT Guwahati.
Surya was pursuing B Tech in Design at IIT Guwahati.
Talking to G Plus, Tonmoy Nath, In Charge of Amingaon Police Station said, “We were informed about the incident last night. Upon reaching the scene we recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. The parents of the deceased have been notified.”
He further added, “No suicide note has been recovered from the scene and the reason behind the suicide is not yet certain.”
