IIT Guwahati Hosts Panel Discussion On Viksit Bharat@2047 Initiative

GUWAHATI: A panel discussion was organised at IIT Guwahati in Assam to synchronise with the nationwide launch on December 11 on “Viksit Bharat@2047 - Voice of Youth” initiative which was inaugurated by PM Narendra Modi and addressed Vice Chancellors and Heads of Universities across the country.

The panel discussion saw active participation from numerous higher educational institutes, teachers, and students who shared innovative ideas to actualise Viksit Bharat@2047. Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, speaking at the event, encouraged the youth to serve as engines of growth and potential forces for a paradigm shift in the country's trajectory. 

Emphasising the crucial role of the education system, Governor Kataria highlighted the transformative impact of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu was also present at the event.

The panel discussion focused on the “Contribution of NEP 2020 towards the transformation of Higher Education and realisation of the dream of Viksit Bharat@2047” and “How to Engage Youth in Contribution Towards Viksit Bharat@2047.” Panelists included Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta, Advisor, Education, Assam Government; Prof. Mihir Kanti Chaudhari, Advisor, Chancellor’s Secretariat; Prof. Alak Kr Burhagohain, Chairperson (Academic) Royal Global University; Prof. Kanduru V. Krishna, Professor Mathematics Dept and Dean, Academics, IIT Guwahati; Prof Padmini Bhuyan Boruah, HOD, Dept of ELT, Gauhati University; and Prof. Ramchandra Deka, Prof. (Retd.) Mathematics Department, Pragjyotish College.
