IIM-Guwahati To Start Courses From Next Academic Year, Says Assam CM

 

GUWAHATI: The Union Education Ministry has granted consent for Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Guwahati to commence its courses from the next academic year, announced Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday, July 25.

This development comes after fruitful discussions held by Sarma with Union ministers, addressing a wide array of crucial topics including education, environment, power, and finance.

The key outcomes of these discussions include assurances regarding royalty settlements from hydrocarbon industries, confirmed support for Assam's Teacher Training Institute, advancements in technical education, and intensified efforts towards climate change mitigation.


Taking to X, CM Sarma expressed his satisfaction with the progress made and focused on the importance of these initiatives in enhancing educational infrastructure and sustainable development across Assam.
