GUWAHATI: In an order passed by the Spl. Director General of Police Harmeet Singh, Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan IGP, Law & Order has been tasked with the duty to enquire into the viral audio clip that is circulating in Social Media, allegedly between Runa Neog, APS, Addl. SP (HQ) Lakhimpur, and one Hasina Begum in the Junmoni Rabha case.
"Shri Prasanta Kumar, Bhuyan, IPS, IGP (L&0), Assam, Guwahati is hereby entrusted to enquire into the viral audio clip that is circulating in Social Media, allegedly between Smt. Runa Neog, APS, Addl. SP (HQ) Lakhimpur, and one Hasina Begum," the order stated.
According to the order, Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan has been tasked to submit the report within the span of 10 days.
SI Junmoni Rabha, who was in charge of the Morikolong Police Out Post in the Nagaon district, lost her life in a fatal road accident in Jakhalabandha on Tuesday, May 16, around 2 AM.
The driver of the container truck which rammed into Assam Police SI Junmoni Rabha’s vehicle on Tuesday and killed her was arrested after he surrendered at Jakhalabandha Police Station on Thursday. The driver has been identified as Sumit Kumar Paul from Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh who was on the run since Tuesday.
The mystery surrounding Junmoni Rabha’s accident increased after a man who claimed to be a witness to the incident and an audio clip of a police officer and an unknown individual discussing the incident went viral on various platforms on Thursday, as stated by media reports.
