GUWAHATI: The Central Government has appointed senior IAS officer Samir Kumar Sinha as Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition) in the Defence Ministry.
The notification comes amid a major bureaucratic reshuffle by the Centre. His appointment as Additional Secretary and Director General (Acquisition), of the Department of Defence has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as per a Union Personnel Ministry order.

Samir Sinha, a 1994-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer was serving as the Principal Secretary to Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in the Assam-Meghalaya cadre.
