Guwahati: The Assam Police seized over 263 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of ₹50 lakh and arrested two individuals, in Golaghat, on April 24.
The operation carried out on Wednesday night was aimed at dismantling a major drug trafficking ring operating in the region.

Under Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Jon Das, the crime branch team, acted on a tip-off regarding two suspected drug peddlers. At approximately 11 PM, they intercepted a hatchback vehicle near the Rongamati tollgate in Dergaon. Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, the team discovered 22 packets of heroin concealed within the bass tubes of the car's music system, located in the boot.
According to reports, one of the arrested individuals, Mohammad Ali alias Fusu, has a history of involvement in drug trafficking.
Golaghat Police took to X to put out, “263.79 Grams of Heroin in 22 soapcases inside Soundbox in Car dikki. Our team busted an inter-state Drug Trafficking network lastnight with two veteran peddlers.”
