Heroin Seized In Guwahati Hotel, Two Apprehended 

 

GUWAHATI: The Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police seized a substantial amount of heroin in Guwahati and apprehended two men in this connection on March 6.

Acting on intelligence inputs, STF conducted a raid at Hotel Bijita located in Paltan Bazar, Guwahati. The raid, carried out in Room No. 207, resulted in the apprehension of two suspected drug peddlers identified as N Sanjit from Yaripok under Andro police station, and Bn Isauddin from Mayang village in Imphal.

Led by Additional Superintendent of Police (STF) Kalyan Pathak, the STF team successfully seized 15 soap boxes containing heroin weighing 210 grams (without cover) during the operation. The recovered narcotics were confiscated, and the accused individuals were promptly arrested.

Earlier on March 3, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had announced that in 2023, Assam police seized drugs worth ₹718 crores and arrested over 4,700 drug traffickers.
