GUWAHATI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Assam, forecasting light to moderate rainfall across most areas with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated locations from till Monday, June 3. The Regional Meteorological Centre in Guwahati highlighted the potential for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in various districts.

DETAILED FORECAST
June 1:
• Heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning at isolated places in Dhubri, South Salmara, and Tinsukia.
• Heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in Kokrajhar, Chirang, Goalpara, West Karbi Anglong, Lakhimpur, and Dibrugarh.
June 2:
• Heavy to very heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning at isolated places in South Salmara, Kokrajhar, Chirang, and Goalpara.
• Heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning at isolated places in Tamulpur, Barpeta, Nalbari, West Karbi Anglong, Karbi Anglong, Hailakandi, and Karimganj.
