GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed a penalty of ₹95,000 on a commercial establishment on SC Goswami Road in Fancy Bazar for unauthorised dumping of waste.

The establishment was found to be operating without a proper waste management agreement with the designated NGO, violating GMC's waste disposal regulations.
GMC has urged all businesses to comply with waste management guidelines by entering into agreements with authorised NGOs.
Non-compliance, the corporation warned, will result in penalties.
Authorities have also emphasised that adherence to waste disposal rules is essential for a cleaner and healthier Guwahati, and regular checks will continue to ensure compliance.
