GUWAHATI: Assam Engineering College (AEC) took out a candlelight march in Guwahati on Thursday, August 15 in solidarity with the rape case at the RG Kar Medical College And Hospital.

More than 250 students took part in protesting against the tragic incident that took place in Kolkata on August 9. Several such protests and marches have been initiated throughout the state and the country, within the past few days.
The victim was raped and murdered on Friday, August 9 while on duty at the RG Kar Medical Hospital and College. Sanjay Roy, a civic volunteer at the hospital has been the prime suspect and accused in the case, with many new reports rising to the surface.
Many reports now have arisen with the case pointing to the involvement of multiple people in the rape and the murder of the victim. The CBI is now conducting a thorough investigation, according to media reports.
