GUWAHATI: A Guwahati woman has been admitted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The woman named Purobi Das is a resident of Dhupguri, Bunda, which falls under the jurisdiction of Noonmati Police Station (PS).
An FIR has been filed over a dowry-related case linked to the matter. This was informed to G Plus by Noonmati PS Officer-in-Charge (OC) Pabitra Bhuyan.
As per sources close to the matter, the woman suffered burnt injuries due to alleged dowry related violence. As a result of which, she was admitted to the GMCH.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the husband identified as one Dharmeswar Das. The police have stated that the full matter can only be ascertained after a thorough investigation and medical examination of the victim who is severely injured.
