Rain Fails To Dampen Voters’ Spirit In Guwahati


GUWAHATI: Voters in Guwahati challenged rain as a large number of them queued up outside polling stations since morning across the city, on Tuesday, May 7.

A voter, Bibha Goswami Kakati, talking to GPlus said, "It is our responsibility to vote and rain cannot stop us."

Some voters were actually happy that it rained, as then for the entire day, the weather would remain pleasant to be outside.

Komen Das, a voter talking to GPlus said, "I think it is better that it rained. The voters percentage will be better as the voters will not be scared of the heat."

The other polling stations in the AK Azad Road area also witnessed huge turnout in the early hours today. 

The voting started at 7 am and will continue till 5pm.
