Guwahati Traffic Police Issues Traffic Advisory Ahead Of Independence Day

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati traffic police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Independence Day celebrations in the city. It mentions traffic restrictions and diversions in several places across the city.

The advisory states that during the Independence Day programme, movement of all heavy commercial goods carrying vehicles coming towards Guwahati through National Highways 31 and 37 will be regulated as necessary through Khetri and Jalukbari.

Further, the traffic police department has also made arrangements for smooth flow of traffic around the Veterinary College field in Khanapara- where the main I-Day programme will be held.

Additionally, commercial goods carrying vehicles will not be allowed to ply on the Guwahati-Shillong Road from Khanapara to Sixmile.

The police will not allow parking on the stretch of NH 37 from Koinadhara point to Khanapara rotary; from Koinadhara point to Assam Rifle building point; from the AASC gate to the research gate point and on GS Road, B Barooah Road, GNB Road, KLB Road and MG Road.
