GUWAHATI: Guwahati will host two matches of RR vs KKR and CSK as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the schedule for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The 18th edition of this premier T20 tournament is set to commence on March 22, 2025, with the final match slated for May 25, 2025, at Kolkata's iconic Eden Gardens.
This season will feature 74 matches spread across 13 venues, incorporating 12 double-headers. Afternoon fixtures are scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM IST, while evening matches will kick off at 7:30 PM IST.
The tournament will open with defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hosting Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at Eden Gardens on March 22, 2025.
The first double-header is scheduled for March 23, 2025. In the afternoon, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will face Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Hyderabad. The evening match will feature a high-profile clash between five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Chennai's MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will commence their campaigns against each other in Visakhapatnam on March 24, 2025. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host its inaugural match of the season when Gujarat Titans (GT) take on Punjab Kings (PBKS) on March 25, 2025.
Three franchises will split their home games between two venues:
-Delhi Capitals (DC): Visakhapatnam and Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
-Rajasthan Royals (RR): Two matches in Guwahati (hosting KKR and CSK) and the remainder at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur.
-Punjab Kings (PBKS): Four games at New PCA Stadium, New Chandigarh, and three in Dharamsala against LSG, DC, and MI. citeturn0search4
The playoff stage will be hosted in Hyderabad and Kolkata. Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium will host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator on May 20 and 21, 2025, respectively. The action will then shift to Kolkata, with Qualifier 2 at Eden Gardens on May 23, 2025. The grand finale is scheduled for May 25, 2025, also at Eden Gardens.
