GUWAHATI: The first-ever North East Para Sports Meet, Guwahati 2024, is set to take place from 27 to 29 November, hosted by UDAYACHAL in collaboration with the Paralympic Association of Assam under the aegis of the Paralympic Committee of India.

Six states—Tripura, Manipur, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, and Assam—have confirmed their participation in the event, which will see a total of 575 para-athletes, team officials, and technical officials competing.
The meet will feature five para-sport disciplines: Para Athletics, Para Badminton, Para Boccia, Para Swimming, and Para Table Tennis. Events will be held across three venues: Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium (Para Athletics), Vandya International School (Para Swimming, Badminton, and Table Tennis), and UDAYACHAL (Para Boccia).
This initiative aims to showcase the talent of para-athletes in the region and promote inclusivity in sports.
