GUWAHATI: An operation at National Highway 37 resulted in a huge seizure of drugs because of an alert that reached the police about the suspected transport of narcotics. The operation was headed by ACP Azara, OC Jalukbari, IC Maligaon, and the SOG team.

Through diligent interception, officials nabbed a truck, AS-18AC-6959 and put it under a thorough search that brought to light 32 soap cases, in all containing 364 grams of heroin worth ₹3.5 Crore.
Two persons were arrested during operations, Mofizul Ali from Jiyaguri, Kokrajhar, Assam, the truck driver, and Surat Jamal from Chirukuta, District Dhubri, Assam, the handyman of the truck.
Both are now under the custody of police. Further investigation is ongoing.
