GUWAHATI: As per a Gauhati High Court order, the distance between two city bus stops will be decreased to 750 metres.
This was announced by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Biswajit Pegu while presiding over a meeting of the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) of the district.
Pegu also asked all the RTA officials to ensure implementation of “time card” system in every city bus plying in and around the city for smooth traffic movement.
The adminstration also said that all the buses will have to display the route numbers and have to abide by the routes as prescribed by the RTA.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ranjan Bhuyan said that the traffic congestion problem would decrease a lot if every city bus starts following all the rules and regulations formulated by the administration.
