Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, Nitin Gadkari during his visit to Majuli announced that 5 new bridges will be built over river Brahmaputra.
The bridges will connect Jorhat city with Nimati Ghat, Disangmukh with Tekeliphuta, Luit with Khablu, and Numaligarh with Gahpur. The 5th bridge will be built in Guwahati, the connecting route of which is yet to be disclosed.
The minister said that the construction of the bridges will immediately begin after the Detailed Project Reports are finalised.
