GUWAHATI: Guwahati is all set to launch 200 new electric buses in the streets on January 1, 2024.
On January 1, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma along with Assam Transport Minister Parimal Suklabaidya is scheduled to attend the launch which will take place in ASTC Central Workshop Campus in Rupnagar, Guwahati.

Talking to GPlus, Rahul Das, the Managing Director of ASTC stated, "We have invested over ₹1 crore for each bus in the fleet."
“These buses will travel on 13 routes throughout the city,” he further added.
Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) has taken a step towards a greener future and have chosen eco-friendly electric buses from Tata and Olectra for its operations.
