GUWAHATI: In a shocking incident, a video has surfaced online that shows a young man (face not captured in the video) physically assaulting an 'on-duty' traffic policeman by holding him by the neck on Sunday, June 23.
The policeman, Ankur Neog, was deployed to control heavy traffic in Beharbari area of the city where a fire broke out.
Neog was beaten by the reckless youth whom he had asked to take a detour because of the traffic.

The youth has been identified as Abhilesh Goswami, an employee of Indigo.
Goswami and his two companions were traveling by an 'Uber' cab bearing the registration no AS-01-8929 when the incident took place.
Police have taken Goswami and his companions into custody and filed a case against all three of them.
