Guwahati: Third-Day Of Delimitation Draft Discussions Concludes Amidst Intense Deliberations

GUWAHATI: The Election Commission of India's (ECI) crucial delimitation draft discussions entered their third day today as the stakeholders engaged in intense deliberations over the proposed constituency boundaries in Assam.

People from nine districts will be putting forth their suggestions and objections to the Commission, comprising Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar & Election Commissioners Anup Chandra Pandey and Arun Goel.

The commission's efforts aim to restructure electoral constituencies in the state to ensure fair representation and uphold democratic principles.

During the day-long discussions, which began promptly in the morning, representatives from various political parties, civic organizations, and experts convened at the designated venue to voice their opinions on the draft proposals.

The atmosphere was charged with anticipation as participants put forth their arguments and counter-arguments, each advocating for their respective constituencies' interests.

The delimitation exercise has become all the more significant for Assam as it marks the first time the state's electoral boundaries are being redrawn after a considerable period.
