GUWAHATI: Chandramita Das, an aspiring student from Guwahati enrolled for the much sought National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in Architecture on August 29.
However, the test was disrupted after the question paper failed to load for the students in the hall.
The invigilators inside the examination centre were clueless to solve the problem.
No answer came from the authorities of the Council of Architecture (CoA) even after numerous attempts to call them regarding the issue by both the students and the exam centre.
Speaking to G Plus, Chandramita Das narrated the incidents of the day. "The question paper didn't load after the exam started. The server was down and I couldn't complete the sectional time cut-off". Other students also faced issues as the answer scripts for part B of the exam abruptly disappeared. The students have further demanded retest.
Moreover, there seems to be no response from the National Institute of Advanced Studies authorities.
Following the uncertainty, "my efforts for the exam have gone to waste and I am scared as it is a career-related exam," said Chandramita Das.
The incident was not just isolated to Guwahati as even in other parts of the country there have been instances of errors in conducting the exam. As published by the Times of India, CoA has taken stock of the situation. "Less than 1% of the candidates faced technical issues and that is being looked by the committee", said Raj Oberoi, registrar, CoA India.
Taking stock of the matter, G Plus tried contacting the authorities but there has been no response from them.
