GUWAHATI: The East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) has solved two theft cases in the city, leading to multiple arrests and the recovery of various stolen items and a vehicle.

An EGPD team from the Dispur Police Station made a breakthrough in a recent theft case with the arrest of Manash Das. Following the arrest, the police recovered a considerable haul of stolen goods, including 5 watches, 1 small torch, 3 mobile phones, 10 ATM cards, 2 pairs of golden-coloured glasses, 5 pliers, 1 scooter key, 1 hair dryer, 1 hard disk drive (HDD), 1 RAM module, 1 data storage device, 1 Microsoft Disc (MS Disc), 1 briefcase, 1 bag and 1 golden-coloured necklace. Further investigation is ongoing.
In a separate operation, an EGPD team from the Basistha Police Station cracked the case of a stolen pickup truck. The investigation led to the arrest of five individuals involved in the theft.

The suspects, apprehended from various locations in Barpeta and Nalbari, include Sona Miya (21), Taher Ali (35), Mahar Ali (35), Nurul Islam (38), and Md Abdul Kalam (39). Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects.
