Guwahati scribe robbed during assignment in Bihar

Guwahati based journalist Chandrika Das, while on a central government assignment, was robbed off her belongings in Bihar. Among the belongings stolen were her purse which was carrying cash worth approximately Rs 1000, ATM cards, identity cards and three mobile phones.

Additionally, her laptop and other belongings were also stolen from Sandice Compound at Bhagalpur district of Bihar.

"I have lost all my belongings and don't know how to reach home. I request the authorities to kindly understand and make an effort to help," Chandrika posted on Twitter.

The victim is currently on a central government mission 'Swasth Bharat Yatra' as the emcee, for which she's been travelling across India. Chandrika is presently travelling from Bhagalpur to Mungner and shall reach Patna on Sunday, December 16.

She informed G Plus that the team reached Bhagalpur from Purnea district on Wednesday at around 7 PM. After being welcomed by state officials, health dept officials and several NCC cadets, the team kicked off their first activity.

Chandrika, who was hosting the session, returned to the vehicle as soon as the outdoor activation activity ended, only to see that her bag went missing amidst all the security arrangements.

While Chandrika has filed an FIR with the Bihar Police, no steps have been taken so far. She has alleged that in spite of providing IMEI numbers for the phones along with the FIR, the police showed no hopes of ever finding the belongings. "Madam, ye Bihar hai. Yaha ladkiyan gayab ho jate hai. Saaman milna toh bohut mushkil hai," the police allegedly said.
