GUWAHATI: In the sixth match of the Guwahati Premier Football League (GPFL) at Judges' Field in Guwahati, Young Amateur Club (YAC) and Food Corporation of India (FCI) played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw on December 15.
YAC took the lead with an impressive goal by Chiranjit Rabha in the 24th minute, capitalising on their early dominance. However, FCI responded strongly, and Yogesh Prasad managed to equalise with a goal in added time at the end of the first half.
The standout performer of the match was FCI goalkeeper Bikash Marak, whose exceptional contribution in front of the goal earned him the Player of the Match title. Marak was honoured with a trophy and a cash award of ₹2100, presented by Munna Chetry, a former international football player.
As the GPFL continues, the stage is set for the upcoming clash between Gauhati Town Club (GTC) and Pride East Mavericks (PEM) on December 16 at Judges' Field. Football enthusiasts can anticipate another action-packed game when the match kicks off at 2.45 PM.
