GUWAHATI: In a recent operation, a team from the Khetri Police Station under the East Guwahati Police District (EGPD) rescued a minor girl who had been reported missing earlier in the day from Uloni. The operation culminated in the apprehension of Simanta Deka, a resident of Dharbam, who was attempting to flee with the minor to Mumbai.

The rescue mission was initiated after a missing person report about the girl was filed. Acting on the tip-off, the police tracked the movements of the suspect and the minor.
The EGPD team from Khetri Police Station located and intercepted them before they could elope to Mumbai. Deka was taken into custody, preventing what could have been an abduction and elopement case.
