GUWAHATI: The police on Friday apprehended a gang of thieves and recovered stolen goods in Guwahati.
According to reports, a team from Fatasil Ambari Police Station under the West Guwahati Police District (WGPD) apprehended a gang of thieves notorious for snatching and stealing in the city.
The operation resulted in the recovery of eight stolen mobile phones, along with a two-wheeler allegedly utilised during the crimes.
One minor from Athgaon has been detained in connection with the case.
The arrested members of the criminal gang have been identified as Prithvi Gupta of Kumarpara, Rohan Roy of Bhootnath, Aman Gill of Bhootnath, Md Salam Miya, Md Jiarul Haque of Pan Bazar, and Md Fazal Haque of Pan Bazar.
The police have initiated legal action against these suspects, who are believed to have been involved in a series of thefts and snatchings in the city.
Guwahati Police took to X to put out, “A WGPD team from Fatasil Ambari busted a gang of thieves involved in snatching and stealing. Police recovered 8 stolen phones, 1 scooty (AS01 EE 7003) used during the commission of the crime. One minor from Athgaon was also detained.”
