GUWAHATI: Starting next academic session beginning in August, Cotton University has decided to make it mandatory for its higher secondary students to wear a uniform.
As per the new dress code, girls will wear blue striped kurta with the university logo on the left upper arm teamed with a pair of deep blue trousers and black shoes.
While for the boys, the uniform will consist of blue striped shirt teamed with deep blue trousers and black shoes. However, girls can also wear the same uniform as specified for the boys.
The varsity, in its notification, has mentioned that the students may optionally wear formal traditional dresses in lieu of their regular uniforms on odd-numbered Saturdays of every month.
According to reports, the average cost of a uniform would be somewhere between Rs 1100-1200.
