Guwahati: Minor Girl Rescued by NF Railway

GUWAHATI: A 16-year-old girl has been rescued by the Guwahati Railway Police. 


Northeast Frontier Railway informed about the rescuing of the minor girl from kidnappers in Guwahati by its personnel stating that she was found with three suspicious males on 14th October. The persons were detained by the police immediately.


The girl disclosed her name and said that she hails from Basantpur, Barpeta. She was kidnapped on the night of 12th October. Upon contacting the family it was found that an FIR was already lodged at the Alopatti Char Police Station. The apprehended persons along with the rescued girl were handed over to Assam Police for further legal action.

The three kidnappers - Azidul Hoque (19 yrs), Mijanur Rahman (22 yrs, elder brother of Azidul Hoque) and Idrish Ali (32 yrs) - hail from Barpeta. 


The arrested persons revealed that they were planning to flee to Kerala by train along with the kidnapped girl. 
In another instance, railway police of Tinsukia division conducted raid at Ashmath travel agency in Digboi on 21st October and arrested one Ashmath Hussain (38 yrs) for procuring tickets with fake identity cards, upon receiving information regarding touting activities.  


They recovered  11 e-tickets (6 live and 5 used e-tickets) valued Rs 43,231,  which were generated by using fake personal user IDs like Ashmath, Ashmathsto,  Ashmathhhh. One computer set and accessories were also seized from the shop and a case has been registered.  


The details of the cases were revealed by NF Railway on 7th November.
