GUWAHATI: A minor girl was abducted from the Khanapara area of Guwahati on January 27, the accused of which was arrested on January 28.
The victim has been identified as a 17-year-old and an FIR was lodged on January 27 itself by the victim's father at around 10 PM.
Upon receiving the information, Dispur Police Station started the investigation and found out that the girl was abducted and taken to Nagaon.
The accused has been identified as Mahendra Bora from Nagaon.
Talking to GPlus, a police official from the Dispur Police Station said, "The accused was well acquainted with the girl. We recovered the girl from Nagaon where the accused resided."
The accused has now been arrested. Further investigation is underway.
