GUWAHATI: A final year MBBS student from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) has allegedly committed suicide in the hospital premises. The deceased, Nimching Panmei, was from Hostel 4 and the initial investigation reveals that he jumped from the balcony.
G Plus spoke to Karuna Sharma, officer-in-charge of Bhangagarh Police Station, who revealed, "The student might have jumped from the balcony. Initial inquest suggests suicide but the post mortem report is yet to come. The boy’s family has taken the body back."
Achyut Kr Baishya, Principal of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital also confirmed the death, speaking to G Plus. "The boy was found dead in the hospital premises. We shall shed further light on the matter soon," he said.
