Major construction activity blocked the flow of traffic at Borbari Chariali in VIP Road area of Guwahati during the early hours of Wednesday, February 10. The office goers and other commuters complained of the heavy traffic.
"Why are they doing the work during office hours, they could have constructed it late at night," said a Borbari resident.

The construction was seen at the traffic point at Borbari Chariali, hindering the traffic coming from both the Six Mile and Narengi side.
The construction is part of the process to supply water to the residents of VIP Road being conducted by the Asian Development Bank in collaboration with Assam Urban Infrastructure Investment Program.
G Plus spoke to a site engineer on duty who revealed that the water pipes have already been installed in the VIP Road. "We are trying to connect the already installed pipes and are creating this junction for the same purpose," said the engineer.
