GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a new building at the Assam Secretariat in Dispur, Guwahati, on October 27.
The newly inaugurated block, 'Lok Sewa Bhawan,' reflects its primary purpose - to serve the public. This new addition, named 'Block I,' is aimed at providing services directly to the masses.
The new block has five floors. It is designed to be a hub for addressing the concerns and issues of the people of Assam, making government services more accessible.
At the event, CM Sarma highlighted the significance of this new facility, emphasising its role in prioritising public service. He stated that 'Lok Sewa Bhawan' was established to streamline provident-citizen interactions and provide prompt solutions to the public's concerns.
The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu, Assam Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Pijush Hazarika, AGP MLA Atul Bora, and Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh.
