GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Metropolitan Drinking Water and Sewerage Board, commonly known as Guwahati Jal Board, has been conferred with "Awarding Innovation" by the Centre for Innovation in Public Systems at the Administrative Staff College of India in Hyderabad.
This distinguished recognition was bestowed upon the Guwahati Jal Board for its e-governance and IT initiative titled "Web Based Water Supply Connection Registration & Payment System."
The initiative was selected after rigorous evaluations, including presentations and expert committee assessments, conducted by the Administrative Staff College of India.
It is worth noting that Guwahati Jal Board had also recently received the "SKOCH Award" for the same initiative.
The e-governance programme introduced by Guwahati Jal Board is strategically designed to enhance the experience of end consumers by eliminating the need for paper-based processes, making the entire system fully digitised.
