GUWAHATI: Commuters in Guwahati are facing a harrowing time stuck in traffic jams, especially in Bharalumukh area of the city due to the ongoing Brahmaputra Pushkar Mela at Sonaram field.
According to reports, commuters have been strangled for hours just to cross a mere stretch of 3 km.
"It used to take me 15 minutes to travel from my home in kamakhaya Gate to from Fancy Bazar. But since the last few days, I've been getting stuck in an hour-long traffic jam," expressed Dinesh Barooah, a citizen of Guwahati.
In the same vein, another citizen said, "Hopeless management of traffic at Bharalumukh on account of this Mela, resulting in stranded passengers for hours."
It is to be mentioned that the residents of Guwahati have been witnessing traffic snarls for more than a week now.
