GUWAHATI: In the early hours of September 18, an accident took place in NH27, near the DTO (District Transport Office) Betkuchi as an e-rickshaw driver fell victim to a hit-and-run by an unknown vehicle.
Speaking to G Plus, the DCP Traffic said, "The accident took place at 6:15 AM in the morning and currently we are investigating this matter to track down the accused.
According to the information, the victim has been identified as Dhaneshwar Rai, hailing from Dhubri and residing in the Beltola area. He was driving an e-rickshaw which fell prey to the accident.
Following this incident, the victim was rushed to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he was declared dead. Further investigations on the case are underway.
