GUWAHATI: The Kishore Kumar Fan Club in Guwahati, which was established in 2015 by lovers of the legendary singer, has been celebrating his birth anniversary every year on August 4, with a musical program in open grounds and auditoriums.
This year, due to the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic, they have decided to take the celebration up on a digital platform. The Guwahati Fan Club has created a Facebook group and within a short span of 3-4 months, the group has received tremendous response with about 1,500 members.

The Guwahati Fan Club has started inviting artists to sing Kishore Kumar's songs from their homes for Facebook live performances, every Sunday at 7 pm. The group has also announced the celebration of legendary singer Kishore Kumar's birthday day which is to be celebrated as 91st Kishore Kumar Birth Anniversary Week from August 2 to August 9.
During this period several artists would perform live on Facebook every day. On August 6, Sai Choudhury will be performing live. The live is organised by Kishore Kumar Fan Club Guwahati in association with the Rotary Club of Guwahati and Rotaract Club of Guwahati East.
Moreover, during this week, they would also promote and motivate the younger generation (up to 18 years of age) to sing songs of Kishore Kumar.

Participants have been requested to post a prerecorded song of Kishore Kumar and the highest liked song would then be recognized. The group urges all Kishore Kumar fans to come forward and participate in the event.
