GUWAHATI: A destitute woman has given birth to a baby under the Ulubari Flyover, Guwahati on Sunday. However, the new-born died following the birth.
As per sources present near the vicinity, the baby was not responsive after birth. The women had no husband or partner who was present there.
G Plus spoke to Officer in Charge (OC), Paltan Bazar Police Station who confirmed that the woman had no one by her side. "There was no father and we took her to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). However, the baby couldn't make it," said the official.
As per sources, she started residing in Ulubari after the lockdown. People close to the matter claimed that the women had mental health issues and some man utilised the situation to impregnate her.
